Located a short drive from the game estate, High Peak Lodge is a modern retreat with four bedrooms and all of the comforts you need in a home away from home, including central heating, wireless broadband and satellite TV.
Our guests enjoy socialising in the appealing living area which features a central stone fireplace and has views over the world-class 18-hole golf course of Terrace Downs resort towards the summit of Mount Hutt. Outside the lodge, the sunny deck contains a barbecue for outdoor cooking and the luxury of a gas-heated hot tub, which is a perfect spot to enjoy a soak after the day’s adventures.
Delicious New Zealand cuisine
As part of the High Peak experience, our chef and our host will prepare all your meals for you in the Lodge’s well-equipped kitchen. We enjoy showcasing the best fresh produce that our region has to offer, featuring local ingredients such as roasted Canterbury lamb, wild venison, Akaroa salmon, fresh Pacific Coast seafood, and seasonal vegetables from the High Peak garden. We are able to cater to any specific dietary preferences or cultural requirements. For those that enjoy a drink, the Lodge is well-stocked with premium New Zealand wines and beers.
The genuine New Zealand bush hut experience
High Peak Hut is a great option for those keen to experience a stay in an authentic New Zealand high country hut. Nestled in native beech forest on the game estate, the hut is a rustic two-bedroom hideaway equipped with solar lighting and a fridge, a stone fireplace, full cooking facilities, a shower and even an outdoor bath! Most High Peak guests choose to spend at least one night out in the hut during their stay, and some will base their entire trip from the hut.
Luxury camping
If you have your heart set on your own New Zealand camping experience, the High Peak team are able to set up a luxury tented camp near High Peak Hut just for you. This option will enable you to marvel at the isolation and tranquility of the New Zealand high country, while still enjoying amazing food and hospitality. Just make sure that you let us know well in advance of your stay if you are keen on the private camping option to allow us to take care of this for you.
